First races of the season started in Landgraaf, Netherlands. Pretty strange to start the race season indoors, but it’s also starting to be a tradition and a good one. Great to see so many family and friends of ParaSkiNL support us there.
My focus was to stick to my technique and trying to get the perfect line. Managed to get some good and positive vibes and a bunch of things to work on. Never would have guessed to end up at the podium at on of the EC races. Although I would have wanted my time to be much better. Ready for more races.
December took us on a long trip with many races. Starting in Pitztal, Austria where I skied my first Super G races. That was zo cool! Looking back at a good week before heading to Kühtai, my first World Cups! Don’t have the best memories of this place as last time I flew out on the first slalom gate, but I am determened to do better this year. Unfortunately I dnf on Slalom, but managed to finish both giant slalom. Although it didn’t feel like skiing on these icy slopes, I did get a 4th place on the first race where most girls dnf due to the difficult conditions.
Next stop, St Moritz, where we would race 2 giant slalom and 2 slalom races. These just weren’t my best races or my strongest mindset of the year. Only finished 1 race and crashed the others on the last part before crossing the finish. Damn!
Let’s go home and make plans for January!
Enjoy your time with family and friends & best wishes for 2017!
